Overview
The Devil's Orchard is a post-apocalyptic roleplaying MU* set in a future London ruled by an all encompassing "church" that keeps a watchful eye over the denizens of the city. In this future, a great cataclysm has changed much of mankind. A major change is the inclusion of various subraces of human called the Touched. These Touched tend to manifest powers greater, or different, than average humans; from telepaths, to pyrokinetics, to emotional vampires — they now make up a portion of the regular population. In addition to the Touched, there are the Beasts — hyper-intelligent animals given the ability to shapeshift into humans to help them achieve their own ends — and the Therians, the offspring of a Beast and a human that are similar to the skin-walkers of legend.
The setting is a dystopian one, rife with hardships and trouble. Slavers, murderers and religious zealots all vie for attention on the stage with the normal populace. That isn't to say that there are no "good guys." There are — it's just that they may be more flawed than your average comic book superhero.
